ANZSCO 261112 : Systems Analyst
Systems Analyst ANZSCO 261112 evaluates processes and methods used in existing ICT systems, proposes modifications, additional system components or new systems to meet user needs as expressed in specifications and other documentation.
To work as a Systems Analyst in Australia, you basically need a Bachelor or Master’s degree and industry experience in the related field. If you have a degree in a non-IT related subject, you could do a postgraduate conversion course. In the case of migrating to Australia as a System Analyst, you need to prepare an RPL report and get your skill assessed by the Australian Computer Society (ACS).
To become a Systems Analyst, you must acquire four skills: Analytical, Technical, Managerial, and Interpersonal. As a System Analyst, you need Analytical skills to understand the organization and its functions, which helps you to identify opportunities and to analyze and solve problems.
Technical skills help you to understand the potential and limitations of information technology. Managerial skills help you to manage projects, resources, risks, and change. Interpersonal skills help you to work with end users along with analysts, programmers, and other systems professionals.

Visa Provision for System Analyst
As the occupation features on the MLTSSL as an occupation in demand in Australia, it is possible to apply for any of the visas in the General Skilled Migration (GSM) Program.
Visas in this category include the Skilled Independent 189, the Skilled Nominated 190, the Skilled Regional Nominated 489 or the Skilled Regional Sponsored 489 visas. In addition there is also the opportunity of applying for a number of employer sponsored visas if you have a firm offer of employment. There is no regional restriction for 457 visa applications for this occupation.

The job of a Systems Analyst in Australia is to work with users to formulate system requirements, develop system plans and documentation, review and evaluate existing systems, and design and modify systems to meet users’ business needs.
Note: Non-ICT Business Analysts (for example, Management Consultants) are excluded from this unit group.
Most occupations in this group (Group 2611) have a level of skill commensurate with a bachelor degree or higher qualification. At least five years of relevant experience and/or relevant vendor certification may substitute for the formal qualification. In some instances relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification (ANZSCO Skill Level 1).

• OET result with a minimum grade B in all sections;

Where mandatory licensing or registration is required you must demonstrate a level of English either sufficient to meet licensing / registration or a minimum IELTS, or equivalent, whichever is higher.
